Normally spotted hyenas don’t draw more than a few pictures unless they are with a kill or in pursuit of some prey. This active family was living under a rock outcrop in Amboseli. Three very young cubs still without their spots, Several a year or two older and three adults. The cubs were extremely inquisitive and playful the mother meanwhile was trying to wean then and on several occasions had to growl and force them away. It was a rare and wonderful opportunity to watch this kind of interaction with animals that are often passed by.
