Birding and Rhino Photography

Nakuru & Naivasha Option

With the Birdwatching and Rhino Photography option, you’ll experience the best of both land and water opportunities. After a hearty breakfast, we embark on a journey to the awe-inspiring Rift Valley. Along the way, we’ll make a strategic stop at a picturesque viewing point overlooking the valley, where you can soak in the breathtaking scenery. Here, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to capture panoramic landscapes and striking portraits, making the most of the stunning natural backdrop.

What to expect

Upon reaching the park, you’ll be presented with an excellent chance to photograph the elusive rhinoceros. Rhinos are a rarity to encounter, and even more so to capture on camera during the first day of your visit to Africa. This unique opportunity promises an unforgettable experience and the potential for remarkable images that few visitors ever have the chance to obtain. Join us for an adventure that combines the thrill of birdwatching, the beauty of landscapes, and the excitement of rhino photography in the heart of Kenya’s natural wonders.

Birdwatching and Rhino Photography at lake nakuru

The changing ecosystem in this area provides some unique landscape and ornithology opportunities. When it comes to wildlife, Kenya boasts a diverse population, with 1055 species of birds, more than any other country in Africa.

In 1975 it held the first world record for the most birds spotted in a 24hr period (288 species). In 1986, bird enthusiasts documented a record of 342 species, replicating this achievement. Many have their habitat in this area. We take advantage of this abundance by enjoying a boat ride along the lake shore. Capture close-ups of birds like Kingfishers and Fish Eagles diving into the water.

We spend the night at a luxury lodge which has everything to help you relax including a pool. Masai entertainment frequently takes center stage, allowing you to relish the lively performances.
Furthermore, you can also savor a pre- or post-dinner drink by the campfire.
In the morning, we embark on an additional rhino-focused game drive and another boat ride before returning to Nairobi. The perfect ending to you birdwatching and rhino photography safari.

Got questions about our tours?

How long have you been in business for?

With over three decades of expertise in the safari and photography industry, we are uniquely positioned to offer you an unparalleled safari experience, ensuring the finest photography opportunities available.

Do I have to be a professional photographer?

Our tours are open to everyone. Irrespective of your interest level or camera gear we guarantee you will improve your skills and have fun.

How often are your tours available?

Due to the rainy season and wildlife proximity, our group tours are scheduled Sept-March, June-August. Outside of these times, we create custom tours to meet individual needs.

Can I bring my non-photographer family and friends?

Our tours are designed for everyone to enjoy the safari experience. If traveling with someone you will not only save on your combined tickets but if there are three or more of you in your group you also have a dedicated vehicle and driver all to yourself.

Is it safe on safari?

The safari business has had over 100 years to perfect rules and regulations.  Drivers and companies are insured and receive formal training covering topics like how close they can get to animals, driving off-road, etc. For guests, there are restrictions concerning venturing out of vehicles and camps. Mostly it’s just common sense.

I am traveling alone on my first safari, what tour do you recommend?

We have many single guests coming on our small group tour. It will allow you space to enjoy your trip but also the opportunity to meet like-minded travelers and experience a safe, amazing adventure.
